Well... here's my attempt at an Alien-ish weapon.

The weapon is basically an overhauled Tachyon designed more for long-range attacks. It has homing like Missiles, deals damage like a Tachyon, and has a finite starting damage amount like a Railgun. Basically, it continuously deals damage until it runs out, and then it poofs. (It doesn't regen damage like a normal Tachyon.) It's destroyed if it hits a shielded section.

Pros: Much better direct damage then a standard Tachyon, and longer range.
Cons: Doesn't bounce around shields like a standard Tachyon. The closer the target is, the lower the chance of this hitting due to its huge deviation.

And... have a bullet something like a particled Tachyon similar to the one below perhaps, but using the regular Tachyon animations for hitting and exploding. Could probably come up with something better looking since I'm not that good with the bullet maker.

Thats a great weapon sprite there. I don't really like that 'muzzle flash', but i know why would you want to keep it - its in line with the stock alien weapons.

And you used my particle app! I love you!

Your app is pretty nice actually. I just don't know what everything means.

Pros: Confuses PD?

The bullet movement for this weapon is harder to describe. It's like a normal Driver in that it collides with bullets and absorbs their damage and does the same with PD weapons. To see a video with the bullet, see this video and skip to the boss Neon Light Illusion at 11 minutes. (The masses of green bullets it fires during its second stage.)

Here's how it would move:
-Bullet is fired from the gun at SPEED 11, activates TRAVEL DELAY.
-Bullet travels for TRAVEL DELAY (60 frames), then goes into Deceleration.
-Bullet hits SPEED 0, and activates PAUSE DELAY.
-Bullet sits in place for PAUSE DELAY (26 frames), then turns directly towards the target, begins accelerating and activates TRAVEL DELAY.
-Bullet stops accelerating when it hits SPEED 11.
-Loop until the Lifetime expires.

Pros: Homing Driver. Good damage.
Cons: Funky movement. Vulnerable to PD because it keeps stopping, and comes from odd directions so it doesn't block shots very well.

I was having trouble coming up with the bullet effect I was thinking of, and only ended up with this, which I'm not really thrilled with: (All 3 bullet fields are using the custom mono.)

A PD weapon which is basically an Impeder with a much stronger effect, but only a small effect duration. Like a Point Beam, it doesn't have to turn to face the target bullet, it simply activates when they come in range. The duration might be too short to be any good, but I don't have any way to test that.

Pros: Can stop volleys of bullets. Stops even fast-moving bullets.
Cons: Short duration and lengthy reload makes it weak to continuous fire.

Has no bullet, so no bullet animation is required.
